Visiting New York with The Foundation for the Undefeated
May 10, 2014 | By Eric Henningson
What a trip – sight seeing in New York, great seats to the 2014 NFL Draft, a ‘selfie’ with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, and a deeper look into the beginnings and evolution of Irrelevant Week!
Founded by NFL alumnus Paul Salata, Irrelevant Week started as a week-long celebration in 1976 to honor the last person picked in the NFL Draft as a major underdog in his field. Deemed ‘Mr. Irrelevant,’ this man is urged to not let his NFL Draft standing get in the way of becoming one of the greats. This message is relayed throughout The Foundation For The Undefeated, who recognize champions of perseverance all over the country.
As a small business who prides itself in the development of individuals on our team, GoldenComm LOVES what The Foundation For The Undefeated stands for. In addition to commending individuals who show determination against long odds, the non-profit foundation raises money to benefit the Special Olympics Southern California, who we can all agree is a great cause!
